Annie Poster unveiled

We are blessed to have such a talented designer as Scott Taylor who has created all of our posters, programmes, flyers and ads,; all free of charge, for several years now.  Ad what’s more he does them all from his studio in The Virgin Islands.

Go Scott, another fantastic poster with Harmony looking fantastic in her full Annie costume.  More masterwork from the costume wifies of Bangholm.

Wanted. Your support. Financially.

In our last post we pointed out the great work of Diane and Gordon (not to mention the rest of the FFM).

As show time approaches we are on the lookout for support from anyone in FCT, related to anyone in FCT or that just cares about FCT to support us with either cast sponsorship in the programme (ask any of the adult helpers at rehearsals all about it), show sponsorship or advertising in the programme.

From as little as £50 your business (or your employer’s business) can place an ad in the programme.

For more information email markgorman@btopenworld.com.

Last year one of our adult helpers was given a donation on her behalf of £500 by Lloyds Banking Group, just for asking.  And a local company, Agilent Technologies, donated £300 to help with show marketing so it just shows; if you don’t ask, you don’t get!

We are truly grateful to both of those companies for their help and support, but we always need more of them.

Annie. Act 1. Check.

Last week Vic, Lynne, Izzy and Joyce pulled off the not insubstantial task of running (a bit roughly it has to be said) Act 1.  So it’s an exciting staging post as we head for showtime.

We’ve also attracted four new advertisers for the programme thanks to the excellent work of new Fundraising, Finance and Marketing committee member Diane Gordon.

While we’re at it let’s hear it for Gordon Weston who quietly gets on behind the scenes as a member of the same committee managing our databases and sending members and supporters email updates, reminders and information.  Thanks Gordon.

OMG. Is that Lynne actually cheezin'?

Annie rehearsals in full swing and cast photos taken

Well, it’s a big cast.  The best we could do was squeeze them all into two big pictures.  Hope you like them.

You’ll find all of the shots on Flickr.  Look to the photobar on the left of your screen and click through to the link.

Annie, meantime is shaping up to be a great show at the St Brides Centre, in Oswald Terrace in the Dalry area of Edinburgh from April 13th – 16th.

Tickets are priced £11 (£9 conc). All tickets are £8 on Sat Mat.

Call the FCT Ticket Hotline to place your order on 07794 144372.

It’s sure to be popular.

Annie kicks off in style

Although 11 of our cast are involved in The Holy Cross Pantomime which finishes tonight, Director Vic Laing with Lynn Moyes and the musical direction team led by Izzy Henderson began rehearsals for Annie with a huge cast of 48.

By the end of night one Hooverville had been pretty much nailed.  A very good start.  And just in case you are unfamiliar with Hooverville here’s a taster from some Americans…

FCT’s Easter Show 2011 is announced!

Kirsty Shaw as Annie in 2008's Ya Beauty.

FCTs Easter 2011 production is to be Annie!

The show will be staged during the week of 11-16 April 2011.

Auditions will be held in Trinity Rugby Club Craighall Gardens on Sunday 12th December, 11 – 4.30pm.

Please bring a packed lunch along with you and wear sensible clothing/footwear for moving and dancing. Audition pieces will be gone over in the morning and auditions of small groups will be held after the lunch break. There is no need to prepare anything in advance.

Annie is an exciting show with parts for both boys and girls and with a mix of ages, so if you would like to be considered please come along on 12th December.

Rehearsals will be on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons with rehearsals for principals on some Wednesday evenings.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with our secretary, Claire Stewart clairtyfct@live.co.uk

The show will be directed by Vic Laing with choreography by Lynne Moyes and Musical Direction by Izzy Henderson.

This will be FCT’s third production of Annie having also performed it in the 1988 Fringe and as an Easter production in 1992.  It’s a fantastic, feel good musical with a host of well known and well loved numbers such as “Easy Street”, “It’s the Hard Knock Life”, “Tomorrow”, and “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile.”
