Fabulous review of Waiting in the wings

For those of you lucky enough to see 12 of our FCT family in action – not to mention probably the same again directing, and performing as adult members and Tempo members – you had a rare treat.  It really was a most moving and fitting tribute to Jenny.  Her Piano was used too by the MD.  Many of our production team took a very active role and many of the FOH team were drawn from FCT’s ranks so we certainly played our part.

Here’s what All Edinburgh Theatre had to say about it.

Jenny Hogg. Funeral arrangements.

jenny

Since our last post went up Jenny’s appreciation has been read an incredible 6,000 times, literally towering over anything we’ve written here before.  We think this is testimony to the deep love that’s felt for Jenny and all of the Hoggs here at FCT.

Some people have been asking for details of what promises to be a VERY well attended funeral.  And I can now share this information with you.

The service will be held at The Lorimer Chapel at Warriston Crematorium on Friday 14th March at 3pm.

Jenny did not want flowers as you will read below (“they suck” I can hear her say) but wanted everyone to celebrate her life and, to that end, not only are we all to wear some colour but after the service we are invited back to Inverleith Church Hall on Ferry Road (FCT’s spiritual home in many ways) for what Rene and Alan are calling “the after show party”.

All of the details are in the Scotsman announcement below (one that my wife commented was the most beautiful announcement she has ever read.)

Jenny Hogg. An appreciation.

jenny

Jenny Hogg was a true FCTer.

Most of her life she was with us.

On stage.

Behind the scenes.

Lifting, shifting, pushing, winding (well, winding people up quite often, but always in a good way).

She was a wonderful young woman who was instant friends with everyone she met.

Always a smile, always a chuckle.  One of a kind.  Just Jenny.

So, the news, an hour ago that she has passed away after a long battle with a brain tumour is devastating to me and all who knew her.

But Rene has asked me to share with you that she was at home, as she wanted, with all her family at her bedside.

She has been supported throughout her illness by many of the FCT family which has meant a lot to her, Rene, Alan and David.

Jenny we love you and will miss you desperately.

Rene, Alan, David.  We are all thinking of you and here if you need us.
